SyncLink adapters are synchronous, full-duplex serial communications adapters available in the following models:

PCI

  • Single port GT Universal-voltage PCI bus master adapter supporting speeds up to 10Mbps.
  • 4-port GT4 PCI Universal-votage PCI bus master adapter supporting four simultaneous 10Mbps connections.

PCI Express

  • 2-port GT2e PCI Express bus master adapter supporting two simultaneous 10Mbps connections
  • 4-port GT4e PCI Express bus master adapter supporting four simultaneous 10Mbps connections.

PC/104+

  • Single port GT PC/104+ bus master adapter, speeds up to 10Mbps.
  • 4-port GT4/PC104+ RS-232, bus master adapter supports 4 simultaneous 230400bps connections.

PCMCIA

  • Type II PCMCIA card, speeds up to 512Kbps

In addition, SyncLink GT adapters are also available in a Speed-Enhanced 20 Mbps RS-422/RS-485 GTs version, as well as Extended Temperature models.

SyncLink adapters cable directly to data communications equipment such as high-speed synchronous modems and digital service CSU/DSUs, as well as, satellite and RF modems through their serial interface ports. Each SyncLink port can be independently configured as V.35, RS-232, or RS-422/485 (RS-530, RS-449, X.21). Available conversion cables are required for each port for V.35, RS-449, RS-530, and X.21 applications. For DCE initialization and connection setup, SyncLink models support an asynchronous mode for sending "AT" commands the DCE.

An optional header provides general purpose digital (TTL) input/output signals for the SyncLink GT family of serial adapters. These signals can be configured (direction), controlled, and monitored through the serial API. Contact our sales department for ordering details.

SyncLink adapters feature Plug and Play configuration of adapter resources, such as I/O base address and interrupt request level. The number of adapters that can be installed is limited only by the number of expansion slots

Incorporating the PCI bus within the industry proven PC/104 form-factor brings many advantages to users, including fast data transfer over a PCI bus, unique self-stacking bus, and high reliability. The SyncLink GT PC/104+ adapter further enhances the rugged design by supporting extended temperature ranges (-40 - 85 degrees C) as a standard feature.

The SyncLink PCMCIA adapter is hot swappable. To verify installation or test SyncLink at any time after installation, comprehensive board-level diagnostics can be activated in the Control Panel and Device Manager.
